Introduction

In this article it will show how research can help in games industry and why research is needed in advertising the game product as well to make sure the game is released in a good time, also showing the use in research in the finance for a game been fighting games in my game concept. The research is used to make a  game very succesful and also to show the difference between market research and product research and show how they benefit the products in games. This will also show what can happen if a game is published then gets too addictive for someone and can lead to real life issues.

This is going to show how advertising can affect the change in ratings for a game and also that the cheapest software isn't always the best software for the game you are going to produce. Budget in a  game is a top priority as businesses do not want a loss and as much profit to benefit there next games.Showing the advantages and disadvantages of games and the cost loss in game industry. This will show how different advertisements can lead into helping the gamers you are interested in appealing to can be affected by different types of advertisements.

This article will show that research for games helps the gamers who are making the game get a better detail to the game they are producing and what use it will be when researching in each point of the games. It is also so that it isn't just research in the game marketting but also game time to develop on who does which work and how long it will take per research as games cannot be made so easily and requires  weeks, months mayb even years before they are actually produced as a game themselfs for each art of the gamew such as story, concept art , design, terrain, music and other major keys to a game and also why the games case is as important as the game itself and the names of the games distinguish the difference fronm one game to another game of the same platform.

Another way the article will help is to be showing the different ways of advertising for a specific game and when it is best to advertise a certain game as each type of audiences have different likings and different places they are at and where is best to advertise the products and the effectiveness of the products when they are sold at different places.

From researching we can find information of a certain genre of games and their average age rating, with fighting games they are at most times 12+ depending on the actual gore and violence within the game which can increase the age rating from 3+ to 18+. the good news with fighting games is that it can be used for entertainment and sometimes competition but the bad news of fighting games is that they have left reports of bullying or violence in reality.

Its best for the developers to use research in there game since they will know the audience that there game will attract and how many there r because its a huge risk to make  a game that's completely new knowing that

Research into games is essential since you will need to know what type of play the game is best suited for from a range of other games and also the extra features in the game.as the genre in games is different so is the layout of the game which is important when you need to consider the music and the way the game is set out  and displayed and also the sound is a big attribute to the game and is crucial it is relevant to the situation.
It also has to show the software and hard ware required for the game and also the cost as a budget is necessary and cautious to not over budget on a game.Its best to research into your rivals games as you need to see how successful they are in order for you to find a way to improve and try to make your game better than there as halo and call of duty have been rivals and always attempting to be better than each other.

Researching into games is also crucial because of the cost of the games also which can provide help in the profit and loss of a games industry. in research in the games you can understand the game play speed which is crucial as well since the game play speed in a fighting game has to be  near enough realistic otherwise fights will b slow and boring.It is important to include languages as not everyone knows one language so its best to make a variety of language to fill the need of gamers all over the world the disadvantage in this is that it will cost more money for hiring bilinguals to speak into the microphone for the recording of the clips and the voices and to make posters of the game and put them up on bill boards, websites anywhere were the target audience would most likely be to help the customers want to know the game and also to help the news spread along about your new game.

In advertising the game for fighting is in the age group of 15-25 as a majority of the buyers so the best times for my advertising would be 4pm to 10pm on facebook or in game magazines as most teenagers are reading the magazines or  on facebook chatting to friends making it very appealing to the age group and release the game in the summer or the christmas times for more appeal to the teenagers/ young adults who would want to buy it.Timing for advertising is crucial in selling games as it isn't really recommended to advertise a 18+ horror game on a children's program. It can be recommended to put out surveys or questionnaires to that audience to get a better view from the customers side what type of game they are interested in when a certain genre is chosen  as all genres are different and also fighting games are different to each other so giving questionnaires help get a better view for what the market wants and what will be a good profit and what will be a bad profit.

In advertising a fighting game on the television advertisement of  the game would be best on channels such as BBC1 or BBC2 maybe dave at times such as 4-10pm there also since thats when the teenagers are home from college, school and young adults are home from college work and finished there university studying. the research helps with the production of a game when the game brings out beta testing and demos of the game for feedback from the game which helps the staff and the producers in ways to make it better with as little cost  as the budget is a main priority in the industry of games cause of profit will be higher, it is best to require advertising on fighting games or movie channels that show action  movies/ fighting movies as they show more interest into fighting games since they enjoy fighting movies and shows.

In market research they will need to use the research for different cost of items and software and hardware as it will help prevent over budget and means more cost to pay for the game and not by using it to buy items that are less costly elsewhere but sometimes the lest costly software is the more difficult it is to work and makes it more complex.

The best type of software they should find is one that most of the team can use and is most familiar with and the cheapest but latest version to help develop the game onto the time target as delaying the time for a game to produce can b extremely costly to the business the advantage of the market research is that it can get you cheaper products and software  for the actual prices but the disadvantage of it is that some software could b bugged viruses or even fakes so its best to find the safest and most reliable software/hardware while researching for your certain product. Some market businesses actually review other games and give good reviews as showing of good faith in the game although its the same with really bad games since not all games are great.

Product research is used to find out more about games that have been produced with simular genres and what type of audience they would appeal to which helps when it comes to knowing what times they would b watching television or at college school university and when it is most likely they will have free time but with the new improvements on tv the profits from advertising in television since sky plus now has record and rewind in its ability and also stopping television it has greatly increased there profit in selling but in the adverts most people usually fast forward past the adverts unless there really appealing and can catch the viewers eyes. it is appeared that the profits in advertising has decreased due to the new abilities sky plus has from normal sky but as one buisness losses another gains.The games case is important in research as you will want the game to look appealing so its best to have a appealing eye catching game case as well as the game to get the customers attention.

this is the example of a bad game case as the game case has a huge picture and little writing
which means for some readers they will find it annoying that the writing is small and the picture is big which can be appealing but it doesnt help with the game title as the game title is the name of the game and without the name of the game the game is pretty bad at been advertised to the public as a game without a name could be any game if they never have a name.

If the product isn't produced and delivered to a client on time in a  supermarket business they could charge you and even sue you for wasting there space in the supermarket for other produce. product research has  advantages such as appeal and customer satisfaction for advertising the product they wish to buy and to tell the audience its release times so that they will be willing to buy it. The disadvantages in product research is the cost of money and the time set if it is missed the consequences can b very expensive and can bankrupt a business.

It is best to research into a  games soundtrack as the games sound make part of the game more entertaining or interesting as you wouldn't play a horror game if the games music sounded cheery and happy and also the sound effects also are a crucial key especially when the game has a different mode or emote to the situation rather than the same music all the way through. so researching by looking at other games of the same genre can give a few clues to how the music works with that environment.

Within research of video games it can show how successful a game can become from development of it and even shows that in advertising can give sponsors or even payments from other companies for them to put there characters into your game and can show a agreement in friendship with that company. It also shows some evidence of reviews from other games and what the testers/ reviewers think of the game as reviews help get the best of the game so demos and beta testing are usually displayed before the actual product to give the customer a chance to try out the game before they buy it. With the credit crunch factors not many gamers as there used to be are buying games as everyone is low on cash they will not buy a game as often as they possibly would prefer to save money for there family and life at home.

with research in games its best to know what type of terrain a game that you are producing has otherwise the terrain would look rly different to the game story and can be unappealing unless the game is called "how not to make a video game".  this is one of the games that without research people hate and they show no real entertainment and no goal to win the game and also it was described as the worst game in history and  mafde the game industry crash and almos tdie because of how undetaied unentertaining and how none of the game made sense to anyone.which is why from now on people who produce games make careful consideration to the game the story, music, sound effects, goal to the game,rewards ad the ending are all made carefully as they do not want another game industry crisis.

In research its best to know which console your game will be on and what the controls would be in that console as each console has different software programs and hardware with controls and different ways of actions. In  fighting games the controls are surprisingly the same layout from one console to the next but different symbols for the buttons but not all consoles are the same especially with the software and hardware graphics and ram each possess showing one game would look  better on one console than another. This also affects the cost of money to put it onto there software as some consoles make it cheaper to put the software on than others. Research is used in the production of the game so that the games story is given a walk through and not messed up.

In the Conclusion it has hoped to prove that researching in market and product research is important and also that researching into a genre of game helps learn more about the best selling ones and the way they are set out to help improve profit of a game made in that genre, Aimed to show that research is key for software and hardware necessary and to prove which one is best for the lowest cost and to show that each genre will require a different software and  not just all games work on the same software and looking for the cheapest isn't the best when you need certain software for certain games showing that all games r expensive to produce and the staff are not cheap to hire either making budget crucial when it comes down to production, marketing as the game will need to be advertised using payments to sky or any other television channel that is best suited for the type of game that is been produced and to show that if a product is delayed and cannot be produced by the deadline that the consequences can be very serious .

In this article it is used to show why games businesses have to be cautious in there games also as they don't want to make it become banned making them lose allot of profits and maybe even sued for that purpose leading to bankruptcy and that where one business loses another profits due to market product research and new developments and as games get more and more interesting more competitions will appear for each genre of games trying to be better than there rivals making competition be a great asset to making better games and not games that were failures like E.T. and hopefully removing the idea of bad games in the games industry  and increasing the profits for video games and into new developments in the games industry.Also remember that a games consoles software can affect the gameplay of the game.

This article is aimed to show in the blog that the games made weither they are film based or made up themselfs that they cannot be just made thinking that the game will please everyone otherwise it will be a huge loss to the company and probably end up making the game company sold or break up with the console in the game collapsing, to show that the game case and game name make a huge difference in advertiisng as people dont like to read small writing on a case at the front of the game case and that the make of the game helps spread the advertising among your adults/ gamers since a game without a name could be anygame that has been made.

This is aimed to show that to make a game successful it needs to be something the gamers want shown as much as possible in adverts, magazines billboards,websites (anywhere were the target audience would go to as often as possible to grab the gamers eyes. Its planned to show how the economy in a country can affect the audience and the customers mood to get a product as they will prefer to save money so its best to show more advertising and mroe appealing games rather than games that wont interest the customers. This is  also planned to show with the conclusion that research has to happen within the games crew also as they have to talk about how the story will work and how it will affect the player. This research helps how the games case is as important as the game itself otherwise the game will not sell and therfore show a loss in the profits or just be a total loss itself.
